What does it mean to be compliant with LinkedIn's terms of service?
LinkedIn's terms of service are quite strict, and non-compliance puts your account at risk. For instance, you're not allowed to share your credentials, grant shared access to your account to other people, or use automated tools. Be very careful with tools that may not be compliant, as they could unknowingly put your account at risk. Chrome extensions that interact with your account are generally not compliant, and neither is semi-automated commenting.
What are the risks of not being compliant with LinkedIn's terms of service?
If you're not compliant, LinkedIn may suspend your account temporarily or permanently. This happens more often than you think. Your account is valuable since you can only have one account with your real name. It's very difficult to restore your account if it gets suspended or restricted. The only way is to submit a request to LinkedIn and explain what happened and their support is generally slow to respond and highly conservative with reinstating access.
Does LinkedIn really suspend accounts that aren't compliant?
Yes, quite frequently. They also delete fake accounts and take action against tools that aren't compliant or abuse their terms of service. Don't put your account at risk. Now that LinkedIn requires ID verification in many countries, it’s almost impossible to create a new account that doesn’t get banned in a short period of time.
Will you need access to my LinkedIn account credentials?
